Crypto Wave Chart
Richard Wyckoff's Wave Chart, drawn over the Binance universe. All market movement is made up of alternating buying and selling waves; the trend is judged by how far each wave travels and how long it takes.
How to read it
The composite is every Binance pair with enough history and a sector classification, equal-weighted and rebased to 100 at the start. Wyckoff summed the prices of five leading stocks; a price sum is meaningless across coins quoted from six figures to fractions of a cent, so this sums returns instead.
That line is then cut into alternating buying and selling waves. Each wave has a distance (how far it travelled) and a duration (how long it took). When the last buying wave beats the last selling wave on both, the trend is up; when the reverse, down. When they split, the answer is neutral — not a weak signal in either direction, but a genuine third state.
This is Wyckoff's own instrument, from Division 2 of his 1932 course. It is not the “Trend Barometer”, which was invented by Toby Weary in 1938, four years after Wyckoff died, and whose formulas were never published.
